One of the most exciting regions in California when it comes to low-intervention 'natural' growing and winemaking is Mendocino county. The Electric Eclectic Merlot is from Open Hand Ranch and is owned and farmed organically by Mark Roggero. The vineyard is nestled in a sanctuary of biodiversity just outside Hopland, California. The proximity to the Pacific Ocean allows the fruit to achieve ripeness at lower brix, giving us the ability to make a French-style cuvée with restraint.
